SOME INTERIOR INSPO

Wednesday, August 23, 2017

interior-design-inspiration

If we're being honest, I've been feeling a tad overwhelmed lately & not myself. I read something that chalked it up to the eclipse & mercury being in retrograde, & I'm going with that because that seems simple, right? HA.

Anyway, I'm trying go get back into my groove & I've got some fun posts coming up. But today we're talking a bit of interior inspo.. my pinterest has been in full swing lately because I'm moving house!! (maybe that has something to do with things? we'll just pretend moving is super simple)

In a perfect world, this collage is what things would look like!

Mood Board Vol. 4 | Festive Edition

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

I've still got a couple weeks left of school (oh finals) but my mind is in full Christmas mode, as evidenced by the insane amount of photos I've been scouring.

My favorite way of spending down time this time of year is wrapped up drinking gingerbread lattes and hot chocolate and pretty much every other winter drink you can think of, a Christmas record going, and writing or wrapping gifts.

It can be easy to let the fast pace of the season hit you, so in those times I try and take it in even more.

It's weird, but it works for me.

How do you like to cozy up?

Bedroom Inspiration

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

If all goes as planned, we'll be moving in a few months.

Not super far, just to a new place, which means an opportunity to put together a whole new bedroom.

With the clock ticking, you'd think I'd be, ya know, cleaning out all the crap I've accumulated over the years, but instead I've been down the pinterest rabbit hole. Oops.

I'm digging crisp, girly vibes with lotsa white. {White is everything}
When I was ten, I painted my walls fushia pink. Yeah. My dad questioned it and said, "Are you sure you're gonna want that in a few years?" But I was determined. {Not much has changed since then} Buuuuut surprise, surprise, ten years later and I don't love the bright pink anymore. It's just so.... loud.

I'm ready for something more chill and cozy. Grown up.

Because I'm so good at pretending to be one of those.

What vibes do you love for your bedroom?

Happy Labor Day weekend!

Growin' it out.

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

Dear bob, or "The Hayden" as I so graciously dubbed you,

It's been real. We've had some good times together. People loved you. So did I. I still do. But it's time to move on. I know, I know, I said I'd never go back to long hair. But people change. Grow. {No pun intended.} Don't be upset. It's not you, I promise. Thanks for the memories.

When I chopped my hair, I was so ready for a change and over my long hair, and I loved the short so much that I swore I would never go back. But I feel like it's run its course. I'm starting to once again long for messy buns and side braids and long curls.

If I had it my way, I would just twitch my nose like Samantha Stevens and my hair would be juuust the perfect length. Sadly, that is not the way real life works. To get to that perfect stage, I'm gonna have to go through the "growing out" stages that feel like they take forever first. I'd never had an angled cut before this, so when I first decided I wanted to grow it out, I thought I was going to have to deal with awkward, less-than-flattering phases. However, thanks to google and many hours scouring pinterest, I've found that there are lotsa fun ways to deal with waiting for length.

The first most obvious stage for growing is the lob, which I love the look of and I've had a variation of before, so I'm ready for it. I'm visiting my stylist in a couple of weeks and poor thing won't know what hit her with all my hair talk. Maybe I'll just print out this post to show her. That would be interesting.

Here's some styles I'm lovin'......

{photos via pinterest}

Trying to grow out your hair can be a long and exhausting process, but I'm up for the challenge. And who knows? My mind might change again and have things chopped. But that's the thing about hair. It always grows back.

My favorite... summer trends

Favorite summer trends

Summer is officially in full swing now, and I can't help but admire all the pretty styles and trends that are happening this season. Let's take a look at some of my favorites I've gathered from my pinterest, shall we?

1// Crop tops have been in for awhile and I adore the whole look of them, especially when paired with high waisted shorts or a skirt, as seen here. Points if the skirt matches.

2// I don't think floral dresses will ever go out of style. (I should know, I only have about a hundred of them) They are simple and chic and can be played up or dressed down. Also, a nice cotton or linen style keeps you cool.

3// A bright top is perfect for casual summer days. If you really want to make it stand out, keep the lower half and your accessories neutral. And a bow is always a plus.

4// Simple skirts and tank tops are a summer staple. They are easy, comfy, and cute. I like breaking out my printed skirts and pairing them with a solid tank. Slip on a pair of sandals and you're ready to go!

Is it just me or have most of my H54Fs lately been pinterest editions?

I've decided I should allow myself one more week of pins though, since I am in the midst of recovering from a traumatic wisdom teeth removal and all. (Okay, so it wasn't actually traumatic. I'm just dramatic.)

The lil devotional up on my screen is P.S. He Loves You by the lovely Erin James. You should read it :)

This has been my view, and I'm actually not complaining. Recovery time means lotsa time to write + have some "me" time. It also, of course, means spending shameless time on pinterest

So.... here's some lovely pins I've been admiring.

1// This makes me crave summertime so bad. I cannot wait to be able to break out all my sundresses.

{via}

2// Speaking of summertime, doesn't this Italian beach make you wanna run there and never look back?

{via}

3// My love for this hair has yet to dwindle. At this point, I just can't see myself going back to long.

{via}

4// Words really are a thing of beauty.

{via}

5// The epitome of class and poise.

{via}

Have a wonderful weekend, loves!
