Stocking stuffers are both my favorite and least favorite thing to shop for. What do you even put in people's stockings? And stockings are just for the people you live with, right? But I want to buy everyone stocking stuffers! I'll admit I break the rules pretty often and add cute little pieces to my loved ones' gifts.
It's an easy and sometimes meaningful way of gifting, and thankfully doesn't have to be strictly for stockings.

Despite my semi-regular anxiety over large crowds, browsing the mall or stores- especially during Christmas time- is one of my favorite activities. In fact, I thrive on it. There's something about the hustle & bustle of the shoppers, the giant Christmas tree displays and music blasting from the speakers that gets me all giddy.
What a rush!

Comin' at you with the first gift guide of the year and I can't even take credit for the theme. I've seen it floating around in blog world and thought it was a cool idea.
Think of it as one of those tags that we used to do- you know, 'the gift guide tag' or whatever. Fun!

Ah, 2018. The year of whirlwind celebrity romances & painting one nail for an instagram photo. It was the year that never seemed to end & then just like that, the end is near. (ominous, no?)

I recently saw an instagram story questioning our love for sappy, sometimes not the best acted out hallmark Christmas films. (I’m lookin at you, Christmas at Graceland)
No matter how cheesy, how bad, how insanely predictable they might be, the general American population (okay, maybe mainly the girls) eat. it. up.

Answering the question ‘what do you want for Christmas’ gets a little less exciting each year, especially once you start to make your own money and and are able to buy your own things. What do I want/ need that I haven’t already bought myself? Why can’t you just get me a gift card?? The struggle.

The great Meredith Grey once said (oh, how I miss the Christmas episodes. Where are they Shonda) "It’s an urban myth that suicide rates spike at the holidays. Turns out they actually go down. Experts think it’s because people are less inclined to off themselves when surrounded by family."

Christmas is by far my favorite holiday to decorate for (& my favorite holiday in general, IF IT ISN’T OBVIOUS) and I love getting inspiration from ~the socials~ & then of course, the buying of new decor.
My aesthetic for Christmas is pretty much the same as everyday decor- modern & girly with a hint of vintage.

IT’S HERE. December is here & I couldn’t be more excited. Besides those tweets saying 2018 has been three years long, it’s officially twenty two days til Christmas.

Picture this: I'm laying under the Christmas tree, Christmas music flowing from spotify, as I watch all the pretty lights glimmer & glow. So maybe I got the ideas from grey's anatomy, so what?
If it works, it works.
In the moments of 'what am I doing with my life.' in the moments of self-doubt & anxiousness, uncertainty, this is the perfect time to step back and let it go. There's something about december that makes it all disappear and you want to soak up every last bit of the fuzzy feelings.
Because once january hits, the real world comes back. The tree gets put away and the lights are gone, until the next december. so we soak it all in, make it last.
Because that's really all we can do.

| {TB to last year-- LONG HAIR I NEED YOU. sweater can be found right here} |
One of my favorite things about the season is getting FESTIVE, & what better way to do that than with a cute sweater? Ugly christmas sweaters don't have to be ugly. In fact, if you wear them well, (like with a good old sequin skirt) they can be pretty dang chic.
I'm a sucker for a clever graphic sweater, & when you add the holidays in, you get MAGIC.

Short & sweet today... beauty bits are pretty much a go-to when it comes to gifting, as there are so many things to choose from in a range of prices. There are loads you can do with beauty bits-- make a little gift basket, use as stocking stuffers, etc etc.
All of these I've picked for a range of reasons: one, I've used or am currently using every product on the list, so they've got the WDAC seal of approval. Two: THEY'RE UNDER $20, because budgeting is important, especially when it comes to gifting.

The first of December. Peppermint mochas can be sniffed out from a mile away and mariah carey festively jamming can be heard from every window.
It's time.
Time to put away all the pumpkin & leaves decor & break out all the Christmas things.
Are you ready?
Decorating for Christmas is one of my absolute favorite things to get to do, but if you're not careful and don't stick to a budget, things can end up getting a little wild and the next thing you know you're crying in the middle of a hobby lobby parking lot. (or so I've heard)
So to save you the heartache, I've rounded up a few of my favorite little bits & pieces from stores 'round the web.
I like my decor to be traditional & simple, but with a little bit of cute and modern thrown in. Lots of gold! (what's new)
