The Things I Loved In February

1// Revlon One Step Volumizer Hair Dryer
I mentioned this guy a few times in my IG Stories but I haven't done a full write-up on it. After much research for Dyson airwrap dupes, and hearing SO MUCH about the One Step, I decided to try it out for myself.

Y'ALL.

My life is forever changed. After using this tool my hair feels bouncier, looks shinier, and more voluminous than I ever could've imagined. I'm even able to style it in new ways, like the ends-flipped-out look you see in the photo above that's very ~in~ at the moment. Lemme know if you wanna see a tutorial on IGV!

2// Roswell, New Mexico
After seeing many social media posts on this show I knew it was time to give it a watch. (I think the moral of the story so far is that I'm easily influenced. Unclear if good or bad) When I say this show is my new obsession.. IT'S MY NEW OBSESSION. It's got two of my favorite things in a show: drama and mystery. And then throw in aliens on top?? Yes pls.

3// Cinderella Of Boston Boots
When I posted about these ankle boots insta seemed to love them, as do I. Cinderella Of Boston had been on my radar for a long time and when I saw these babes on sale it was an instant add to cart. If you have small feet and want shoes that look like they were in fact made for adults (because they were) this is a very good place to start.

4// Little Women
I finally saw Little Women (2019) at the beginning of the month, and it was the best film I've seen in a long time. (SOBBED my way through) It also made me realize that aside from a picture book version I had as a kid, I'd never read the book, so obviously I went straight to Amazon and ordered this pretty-covered edition. Though it's taken me nearly the whole month to read it (it's over 700 pages okay) I've fallen in LOVE. I'm nearing the end and I don't want to be. Also, Jo March is now my sole writing inpso, thanks.

Drop your obsessions below!

My Favorite Oscars Looks, Ranked

Monday, February 10, 2020

If I'm being honest, my favorite part of most award shows is the red carpet. Eyes glued to Instagram on alert to see what everyone is wearing is my game plan and I'm always ready. Let's call award shows (and the MET Gala) my Super Bowl. Whilst it isn't the first Monday in May, it is the Monday after the Oscars and it's time to talk fashion!

My Top Nordstrom Rack Picks

Friday, July 12, 2019

Ah, July. You got your fireworks, your free slurpee day, and the Nordstrom Sale, which is basically Christmas 2.0 in blogger world.

The thing is, I'm never interested in the sale because A) I don't have a card so no early access= lots of the good stuff is sold out afterwards, & B) because I mostly shop the Rack.

THE PODCASTS YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO

Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

I've recently been v into podcasts (as mentioned in this post) which is something I never thought I'd say. I'm a visual learner & I don't do well with straight auditory (except for music, because music) which is why I can't do audio books or listen to football on the radio, & why I thought podcasts wouldn't be my thing. But oh, how I was wrong. They're basically like their own brand of radio show, & I'm hooked. I'll listen sometimes when I'm driving, getting ready, even in the break room at work. (Hello, I'm an introvert, how ya doin)

MY FAVORITE KRISTIN ESS PRODUCTS I STYLE MY BOB WITH

My Favorite Kristin Ess Products For A Bob

#notspon Now that THAT’S out of the way- -

Kristin Ess’s haircare products have become a holy grail for me, & now that the short hair is back I’m obsessed even more. The fact that she’s created things specifically for bobs & lobs is super helpful!

WHY THE DENIM SKIRT MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE PIECE

Friday, September 21, 2018

The denim skirt has been a long standing piece in my wardrobe. I currently have three I rotate between, & they are my ride or dies. They are there for me on the days when I just don’t know what else to wear, the days I need a pick me up, & the days I want to live out my nostalgic 90s dreams.

THE ONE DRUGSTORE SHEET MASK YOU NEED

The One Drugstore Sheet Mask You Need

I love a good face mask, and after about a hundred curious instagram & blog scrolls through talk about sheet masks, my curiosity got the best of me a few months ago. Up until then my mask routine consisted solely of jar masks, & I was perfectly happy with that. But a part of me wondered if just maybe, something was missing to the routine.

BITS & BAUBLES | JULY EDITION

Friday, July 27, 2018

I’ve got a lot of outfits & posts planned out, but it’s been a doozy of a couple weeks on my brain (mental health! LOVE IT) & I haven’t been able to sit & shoot photos/ write what I wanna write. So I’m bringing July in review a little early, & hopefully next post I’ll be back with fresh eyes. And fresh coffee.

THE FACE MASK YOU NEED TO ADD TO YOUR ROUTINE

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

The Face Mask You Need

Today we’re talking FACE MASKS, specifically the overnight kind. I didn’t know the difference between an overnight mask & a regular one, and I thought the former was a bit unnecessary. However, after researching and actually testing out this overnight thing, I’ll have to retract that statement, thank you v much.

FOUR THINGS I'VE BEEN LOVING LATELY

Monday, April 16, 2018

It's been awhile since I've done a good old "favorites" round up, so I thought I'd bring ya one today.

THE PINK LIPSTICK EDIT

Monday, February 19, 2018

The Pink Lipstick Edit

You may have noticed, I have a thing for pink. Not so much the bold, hot pink that once framed my teenage-bedroom walls, (cringe) but the soft, feminine notes of a blush or strawberry tone. & that shows in my lipstick shade choices. Sure, I love a good berry or red, but I feel things truly shine in a good old fashioned, Reese Witherspoon-esque pink.

Over the years I've found a few ride-or-die lippies that stand the test of times, & today I'm sharing some PINKS. SEO says I should be writing A LOT more under each description, but there are only so many ways you can drone on about a single lip product. So without boring you to death, let's dive in:

Pink Lipsticks

This color is such a subtle, pretty tone. It could even be known as the perfect pink: not too bright, not too light, but just so. I think there's a reason for its name; it's light & breezy, just like a summer day. Ooor maybe I'm getting too deep in the similes. THIS ISN'T ENGLISH CLASS. Nevertheless, I'm a fan.

NYX SUMMER BREEZE LIPSTICK

So pale it's nearly a nude, this one is for when you want something even more subdued than summer breeze. It looks especially pretty paired with darker eyeshadow or outfit. CONTRAST.

NYX STRAWBERRY MILK LIPSTICK

Aside from the rather cheesy name, this is probably my favorite pink lip I've ever worn. It's an oldie but a goodie. It's a pop of matte pink without being so overpowering you don't know what to do with yourself. It's pretty much universally flattering and, well, chic. Okay, so maybe it lives up to its name. Who knew?

BITS & BAUBLES | THREE THINGS FROM JANUARY

Thursday, February 1, 2018

Oh hey, hi! Long time no see! It's been a MONTH, yes? January may just have 31 days, but every year it feels like 311. HOO. This one was particularly busy, as I've gone a little off the rails & decided I just couldn't get away from school. You'll see plenty of the (mis?) adventures over on my insta stories, since I've completely abandoned the old snapchat for them.

& so is life.

ONTO THE LIST:

I'm almost certain I've highlighted these recently, but it's only because I just can't get enough. I'd never actually owned a pair of mules before & these babes are comfortable, cute, & go with literally everything. My best friend calls them my old lady shoes, & I wear that title proudly, thank you. (& here's a little alternative for all you non-kid size wearin babes)

2// The Greatest Showman.
I actually saw a new movie!  I don't get out to the movies often & it's a shame because I really enjoy it, aside from the $10 popcorn prices. anyway, my mom & I decided to see the greatest showman after hearing rave reviews from literally everyone, & I don't regret a second of it! The costumes. The music. The cinematography. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

3// Yoga, consistently.
My yoga journey has been nothing short of a ride, & for the past few months I've made a commitment of practicing at least five times a week, and for the most part I've stuck to it. The holidays were a little hairy, but January is the month of getting back on track and that's what I've done. My favorite virtual yoga teacher Adriene does a 30 day practice at the beginning of each year, & I've been loving this year's. Practices like this help keep you in check with a consistent flow. It can be extremely challenging, but worth it!
