& just like that, March is gone. These are a few quotes I've been digging and I hope they get you through April!

How true is the one from F. Scott Fitzgerald? It's never too late to start over, to start fresh in the life YOU want. You have to make it happen.

Inspired.

The first month of the year is halfway through {whaaa?} and lemme tell ya, keeping up with your goals is not easy. That being said, I still have inspiration and passion in me. I'm inspired to love and laugh and grow and breathe.

When I first decided to set intention with my goals for the year, I based it on the belief that ultimately you decide the path you take. You have to take control of your life because your happiness depends on you. You can't depend on someone else to make you happy, you have to learn how to just fall in love with your life the way it is. While that's definitely easier said than done, it's also most definitely possible.

You can do all the things you've ever wanted to do. Choose to be fearless with your life. You'll only regret the things you end up not doing.

So do it all. All the things.

It's going to hurt sometimes. That's okay. Laugh anyway. Love anyway.
Take a deep breath. You're going to be okay.

Mid-week inspiration

Your passions and your heart are the most beautiful parts of you. The way you explore your passions, the way you love with all your heart. Those are the parts of you that matter the most. Focus on that. Focus on living your life in beautiful ways. It makes all the difference.

Forever

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

{via}

I recently decided to reread my favorite book, The Truth About Forever. I think the story is so beautiful and the quote that kinda blows me away is *spoiler alert* the last paragraph of the book:

"That was the thing. You just never knew. Forever was so many different things. It was always changing, it was what everything was really all about. It was twenty minutes, or a hundred years, or just this instant, or any instant I wished would last and last. But there was only one truth about forever that really mattered, and that was this: it was happening." -Sarah Dessen

I think that is the truth about forever. There really is no one definition. It's just there, and it's happening all around you, at every second. And you'd better start making your forever count, because it could all end in a second.

Take risks.
Fall in love.
Be fearless.
Live.

With you

Thursday, April 10, 2014

{via}

As I write this, I am currently confined to the recliner, with my pandora on shuffle and an ice pack on my face. I think I look worse than I actually am. I didn't get into some crazy accident, I just got my wisdom teeth out.

Ouch.

It actually wasn't as bad as I had feared it would be. In my little anxiety plagued mind, I was just sure something was going to go terribly wrong. And it felt like no matter how much I talked and prayed about it, the little tugging in the pit of my stomach wouldn't go away. Even though that feeling is nothing new to me, it frustrates me because I know I have no reason to worry.

In those moments I have to remind myself that I am human. We all worry.

It's how we deal with it that counts.

He is with us and keeps us wherever we go. I had to remember that as I sat in the chair getting ready for them to put the IV in. He was with me in there.

He is with me when I am alone driving in my car.
He is with me when I am surrounded by people.
He is with me when I am feeling anxious.
He is with me when all of the worries I have bottled up inside come tumbling out.

He is there, holding my hand. He keeps me close to His heart.

So dear friend, know this one thing:

"I am with you and will keep you wherever you go." -Genesis 28:15

Woman Crush Wednesday: Emma Watson

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

I don't think people quite understand my love for Emma Watson. She's an incredible actress, but she's also more than that.

She's brave.
She's bold.
She's passionate.
She taught an entire generation of girls that they can be warriors.

She's classy.
She's lovely.
She's human.

Skate through it

Monday, February 10, 2014

{via}

The Winter Olympics are officially under way, (go USA!) and my favorite winter game has always been figure skating.

Something about it is so fascinating to me. The strength it takes a skater to move their body in the ways they do is incredible. And the movements are beautiful.

Sometimes a routine can be nearly perfect, never missing a beat. But things happen. Landings are missed. Falls are taken. What's amazing to me is that even when a skater messes up, they hardly ever let it phase them. At least not on the outside. I'm sure they have to be freaking out, but they don't show it. No, they get right back up and continue the routine, as if nothing happened.

I think life is like that sometimes. We can do everything right. Life can be going great.

But life also gets messy, sometimes without warning. Everything can change in an instant.

And sometimes, we take falls and miss landings too. Maybe not literally, but it sure feels that way. Life is not always perfectly peachy. In fact, it's hardly ever that! With age has come the realization that things are not like a '50s sitcom. As much as we would love for every problem to be solved in a matter of 23 minutes, that's just not the way it works.

It can take a really long time for things to be fixed, and some things never quite can be. But you know what? It's okay.

{via me}

God doesn't do things just because. Every single thing that happens in your life is significant. Important. All the heartbreaking and seemingly unbearable things come with a chance to make you stronger, as do the amazing things. Take advantage of it. Don't give up.

We will stumble and we will fall. And I don't know about you, but I hope to eventually become like those amazing figure skaters, able to get back up when they do take that fall.

It's the new year. & a mantra.

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

Happy new year lovelies! Since it's January 1st, I have started my journey of reading Demi Lovato's book, Staying Strong. The goal for the first day is to come up with a mantra for the year that you can repeat to yourself and know that it's there during difficult times.

I decided that Let go and let God is going to be my mantra for 2014. It's one of those phrases that is always kind of stuck in my mind, and I like the meaning of it. It's so easy to say you're going to give all your worries to God, but it's much harder to actually do it. We want to be in control, it's just human nature.
It's not our fault.

But this year, I want to be able to put this phrase into action. I want to be able to let go of all my worries, fears, and struggles and just lay them on His heart. I want to be able to let Him take control and know that it's going to be okay.

I encourage you to come up with your own little word or phrase that you can tuck away in your mind and take with you everywhere this year. It really does help. What's your mantra?

xoxo, Kae.
