January Favorites // Fashion, Beauty, &.... Granola

Friday, January 29, 2016

First favorites roundup of the year is a go! There weren't a ton of products I omgfellinlove with, but the few I did are keepers.

Fashion

I've been reaching for the jacket from this post all month. It's a staple piece, especially when the weather never knows what it wants; I can easily throw this baby on to make it all okay.

This Lilly infinity scarf is to die. The print is so fun and instantly adds a sense of "I'm pretending I'm somewhere tropical" to a look.

I got these LC earrings for Christmas and they've been a go-to this month. I'm all about delicate gold jewelry.

Beauty

I hadn't had any experience with the Nip + Fab brand until I bought one of their lotions for my sister. As I was picking out hers, I spotted their De-Stress blend and instantly thought "I think they made this for me." JK. But really I use it after every shower as a moisturizer and kind of let it soak in. And the smell= amazing.

Sometimes I try new mascaras, but I don't love them all; I tend to stick with my favorites. But Borghese's*  State of the Art is perfect for the times you want a little extra va-voom. Sometimes I'll put it on top of my Lash Sensational and the lashes become sky-high and volume city. (can I over use adjectives any more?)

Everything else

Y'all. I don't know why I 'm just discovering Nature Valley's little bits of chocolate goodness but I never wanna go back. They're perfect to throw in your bag- just measure out a serving and go!

As far as TV goes, PLL came back this month, so obviously that's been a favorite, because it's not like I have a choice anymore. #ThanksMarlene The Grey's watch is still going strong as well.... it hurts, but it's good. So, so good.

I've been listening to a lot of good music lately, like Roses, which I play at least three times a day. You know, for good measure. I hate that Bieber makes music good enough for me to include, but it was inevitable. You should just go and love yourself.

Discover anything this month I should add? Tell me what you've been in love with!

*I received the Superiore State of the Art mascara complementary from Borghese, but as always all opinions are my own.

Hey loves! I've got some January faves comin' your way later, but for now let's talk about some new favorite weekend reads:

+ I've been trying to get up earlier on my off days, but sometimes all efforts render useless. Sound familiar? I'll be using these tips asap, thanks.

+ Kallie makes the whole contouring thing so much simpler. After reading this post I picked up the contour palette (naturally) and so far the test drive is going well...

+ Helene is basically the blogging queen, and here she lays out some quick tips on reaching out to businesses and other bloggers, plus she's got a media kit template available. Yes please!

+ I love that Reviews.com reached out to me about their article on the best foundations! They did extensive research (and weeded out any foundations with less than 12 shades- women of color are underrepresented enough) to come up with their picks.

+ I'm pretty sure Lauryn can read minds because I was in dire need when she put this post up on getting in an "office mood". Sometimes I just can't get into a work flow no matter how much I want to and it's so annoying.

+ A friend shared this article on facebook and I thought it was pretty relevant since I'm in the middle of my Grey's watch. (On season seven now.... six's finale tho. INTENSE.) #5 on the list is too real.

Found any can't miss links lately? Lemme know what I should add.

OKAAAY let's get right into the third episode of season six, AKA I've Seen This Before But For Some Reason I Can't Turn It Off:

+ Looks like Sara's creepy level went up to a ten in the first minute of the episode. Is that a record or something?

+ Speaking of Sara.... we were finally reminded of what happened to her "that night": Electrocution. I say reminded because I sure couldn't remember. "Something happened that nobody knows about." Yeah, no kidding. Thanks, handy flashback.

+ We learned that Emily's not sick, she's just broke and donating her eggs. Casual. #youdoyou

+ I hate to say it but I see myself becoming somewhat open to the idea of Spencer & Caleb. But something about it still feels.... off. I think him with anybody other than Hanna will always feel kind of wrong. Sigh.

+ Looks like the dolls are back and next week we have another bin situation. If you saw my snapchat (@kaemichelle) you know my new favorite joke: We should recycle more.... LET'S START WITH ALL THESE STORY LINES!

...... thanks, I'll be here all week.
