All things considered, the season six finale was pretty good. Like better than the rest of the season.... obviously my standards have become critically low.

Let's bullet point & review, shall we? SPOILERS:

  • In a completely unexpected  turn of events, Ezra & Aria and Hanna & Caleb happened again. Listen, I love #haleb, but not when they're both already with other people.

  • There were theories of a twin story line happening, which looks like the rumors are true. Mrs. DiLaurentis had a twin sister who gave birth while in Radley. That baby was.... Charles. You guessed it. Charles was adopted into Ali's family where she eventually transitioned into Charlotte. SO Cece was actually Ali & Jason's cousin, not sister. Keepin up?

  • Oh yeah, to add to the twist? Rollins is in cahoots with Mary (the twin sister) though I'm not quite sure what their endgame is. To have control of that Carissimi Group? Revenge for Charlotte's death, maybe. (oh yeah, cause Rollins was in love with her. Makes total sense, right?) In any case, I'm not surprised about him. He had no backstory and came out of left field. Villain was the only explanation.

  • Alright, am I the only one not concerned about Hanna? It's obvious she's still gonna be alive. That's what this show does, makes you think people are dead when they're really not. Also, remember that scene of the girls in Alison's classroom when she's writing on the blackboard? That hasn't happened yet, and Hanna was there. SO.

What do you think? Were you impressed with the finale/ season as a whole? Do tell.

This week's PLL saw more totally threatening A threats (for real. Horror movie material with this one, right?) and random Sara Harvey pop-ups.

+ First, I feel like we should talk about the notes from A that Aria found in her parents' wedding photos. How much sense does it make that none of the guests would've seen the cards on the table and freaked? A is ballsy, I'll give 'em that.

+ Why does Sara Harvey seem to show up at every corner? And why do the girls never just call her by her first name? Do they think we'll forget? So many questions.

+ From the looks of the failed bridal shower game, Hanna hasn't really shared much about Jordan with the girls. Or anyone, really. Hmmm.....

+ I've always had such mixed feelings on the whole Aria/ Ezra thing. I mean, I used to think "eh okay" because he didn't know her age when they met. But then (way) back when it was revealed he met her on purpose for book research...... yikes. ANYWAY.

Enough about my thoughts.... tell me yours! OH and how do you feel about this whole Caleb/ Toby rift?? Just let bros be bros, man.

If I could sum up last night's episode in a few words they would be: Awkward. Pretty outfits. Weddings. Confusion. I spent more time than I'd like to admit wondering "what can I talk about?" because it all seemed so anti-climatic.

Well, besides Ali & Rollins (does anyone even know his first name?) wanting Aria to marry them, like now. But we'll get to that. Some other key points:

+ The girls figured out there was more than one person after them. Well duh. Because there always is. And I guarantee Melissa is involved somehow. She seemed so sketchy with the suitcase thing, although she always seems sketchy and then it turns out to be nothing. Or that's what we think.....

+ It looks like Aria is Ezra's new official ghostwriter.... as if that relationship isn't messed up enough.

+ Spencer & her mom's "Do you want some coffee?" "I already had a pot" exchange is me. (Yes this is an important point, okay?

+ Aaaad Alison & Rollins are engaged. I called that part, but I didn't call them running to Aria's parents' house asking her to marry them. (Oh yeah, Aria got officiated so she could re-marry her parents. Totally casual.)

+ The last few episodes I feel like the style has made more of an impression on me than the storyline (yikes).... & if you don't have this blog bookmarked do it asap. Cue me searching every outfit from the past six years....

Okay, your turn. Thoughts? Concerns? etc?? Spill!

This week focused heavily on the girls' personal lives, with a touch of new mysterious A threats and Mona cryptic-ness.

THOUGHTS:

+ Why did Dective Tanner have to show up again? I've always wanted to punch her in the face. (Getting right into violence, nice Kaeleen)

+ In new A crimes, Emily's eggs were destroyed (along with thirty other women's because A is ruthless) and Jordan was threatened with a mysterious use of eggs & bacon? I'm not even sure what the threat was. But in any case, Hanna got the message loud and clear.

+ I'm confused as to if Spencer's mom is even sick at all? There was something mentioned of breast scans, so does that mean she has breast cancer?

+ I called Alison & Rollins ending up together way back... chalk it up to the fact that the previews for this half of the season showed her writing MRS. ROLLINS on the chalkboard. Totally not a give away or anything. I wonder when the big proposal will be?

+ Once again Mona's cryptic clues give no answers and leave more questions. Does anyone get her current motives? Did she let us know because I really can't tell.

+ So now we've got Melissa as the next one on the "who killed Charlotte??" list. Who knows if her suitcase handle is really the murder weapon, but I still think she is connected to everything somehow. I'm anxious to know your thoughts on it!

+ On another note, how chic was Aria's two piece + jacket combo? Obsessed.

YOUR TURN: Lemme know your thoughts/ new theories! Maybe we can help each other make sense of it all. (a girl can dream)

The premise this week was simple: Sparia back in action looking for answers, this time in reference to Sara. Did they get any? No. Only creepiness.

Other very constructed thoughts:

+ I'm glad at least Aria's parents are getting back together. That's one couple down... also I guess that reveal means Byron isn't as shady as he's made out to be. Or maybe we're just being lied to, because when aren't we?

+ Whaaat is Mona up to? The whole phone thing was never really resolved. But I'm 98% sure she's working with Sara. Or 97%. 89.5%, at least.

+ There is one of three possibilities for what happened to Emily from her hospital bed. One, she really was hallucinating, two Alison just somehow missed Sara coming into the room, OR she's covering for her. I really don't know which is more plausible at this point.

+ Sara in general just makes me really uneasy. Why would she want to stay in the room that was Charlotte's when she was in Radley? I don't get any of her motives.

Alright, your turn. Got any good theories? Thoughts/ objections? Throw em out there.

And here we are, another Wednesday, another chat. This was another iffy episode in which we didn't really learn much, except for the fact there's another A situation.

But we kinda already knew that, didn't we?

+ Spencer & Caleb used to be my brotp and then they had to pull out the romance card. Why couldn't they have just stayed friends?

+ And why did we never find out if Toby proposed to Yvonne or not? I'm guessing he didn't, and I'm also guessing why.......

+ Where. Is. Ali.

+ I always knew Aria's dad was shady. So who's he working with? Sara? Ezra? No one? WHAT'S GOING ON

+ I love that Spencer & Yvonne don't have the whole ex girlfriend vs new girlfriend thing going on and instead take on politics together. I'd like to see more of that, please.

Tell me, are things ever going to get interesting again?? We'll see.

OKAAAY let's get right into the third episode of season six, AKA I've Seen This Before But For Some Reason I Can't Turn It Off:

+ Looks like Sara's creepy level went up to a ten in the first minute of the episode. Is that a record or something?

+ Speaking of Sara.... we were finally reminded of what happened to her "that night": Electrocution. I say reminded because I sure couldn't remember. "Something happened that nobody knows about." Yeah, no kidding. Thanks, handy flashback.

+ We learned that Emily's not sick, she's just broke and donating her eggs. Casual. #youdoyou

+ I hate to say it but I see myself becoming somewhat open to the idea of Spencer & Caleb. But something about it still feels.... off. I think him with anybody other than Hanna will always feel kind of wrong. Sigh.

+ Looks like the dolls are back and next week we have another bin situation. If you saw my snapchat (@kaemichelle) you know my new favorite joke: We should recycle more.... LET'S START WITH ALL THESE STORY LINES!

...... thanks, I'll be here all week.

This week's PLL began the questions of "who killed Charlotte?" (I thought maybe the title meant we would get a peek into Charlotte's world leading up to her murder but...)

Anyway, jumping right into my thousand thoughts:

+ We met Aria's Liam and Hanna's Jordan and while Liam's not bad, I'm not feeling Jordan yet. Like, how blah can you be? And the cute accent can't even make up for it.

+ Speaking of loves, I still don't know what's going on with Caleb & Spencer. Did they have a thing? They look like they had a thing.

+ "No writer is ever in a good place, Aria." TRUTH.

+ WHAT is wrong with Emily? What is she getting treatments for? I thought it would be revealed by the end of the episode but once again I was left with more questions.

+ Last question: Why is Sara Harvey relevant? What's she planning.....

OKAY tell me your thoughts/ opinions/ rants.... go!

Previously on Pretty Little Liars... Of Late I Think Of Rosewood

FINALLY PLL is back... I've missed doing these little recaps.

The premiere of the second half of season six brought the start of  "five years forward," and with it came changes and five years of an A-free life. Not for long....

+ The girls all come back to Rosewood to essentially lie for Alison, I guess for old time's sake? So much has changed, but it's still the same.

+ I guess Spencer's pill issues have been passed down to Emily. I hate that they killed her dad!

+ It's clear that they're going to make Spencer and Caleb a thing, something so out of character for them both. I'm not on board with it at all.

+ I could've called Charlotte being murdered (right after she's let out of the sanitarium- talk about irony) and from the looks of the previews for next week it looks like we're right back to the whole "she's the killer no he is no she is" plot.

+ Overall it was a good opener to the new chapter; for once it's not as predictable as before.

Now it's your turn! SPILL thoughts/ new theories.

Previously on Pretty Little Liars... Taking This One To The Grave

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

{via}

Okay. So. The mid-season finale happened last night and all I can say is wow. Just wow. I wasn't ready. {Spoilers ahead y'all}

My anxiety was like, legitimately on another level about this episode. It was being built up so much and I knew that someone was going to die and even though I had my theories, I was still really nervous. {If you haven't figured this out yet, I get really into my shows} Let's start from the beginning shall we?

I knew that something wasn't right when Spencer wasn't with the others in the opening sequence. I didn't know where she was and for a second I thought, What if she's the one? Also, whoever was murdered died on Thanksgiving. What a bummer.

So thirty six hours earlier, the girls decided to ask Mona for help, because quote, "She's Mona" {Perfectly acceptable reason} and she's been on the inside. I was actually surprised at how genuine Mona was being when she said she wanted to help them, but then again Mona is always a surprise for me. You never quite know what she's up to, which is why I wasn't sure about her MO when she was talking to Lucas. Turns out, they were just trying to break into the police department's files to get the video of Ali's lie detector test.

I agree with Mona on Alison being A. Ali's little smirk when Emily told her "I don't want things to be like this" just confirms the ulterior motives. And then she got super defensive with Emily when she found out the girls' theory. I smell A......

Mona was able to get the police files and the girls found out that the police were looking at Spencer as the killer of Bethany Young. Of course. I could've told you that was going to happen. She obviously didn't do it, but the Rosewood police are clueless, which is why I totally called them arresting her. The look on Toby's face when they put her in handcuffs... heartbreaking.

Toby. Toby. Toby. I had another is this who dies moment when he got into the car wreck. But, thank goodness he was okay, only suffering a broken leg. At least it wasn't him that was broken.

Throughout the episode, there were tiny clues that started leading me to believe that Mona was going to be the one who died. Finally meeting her mom, a heart to heart with Hanna... just little things added up. Here's the thing. At first I was sure it was Ali that broke into Mona's house and did the dirty work, but now I'm not totally sure. Why didn't they show the girl's face? And the blonde hair could've been a wig.

Alison's face when everyone was outside Mona's house was pretty incriminating, though. She didn't look the least bit upset. She just looked ever so smug. Is she just incapable of feeling, or is she the guilty one? I think she's guilty in either situation. I think she's been orchestrating the entire thing the entire time. Whether she hired someone to get rid of Mona or did it herself, I believe she's responsible. I've been wrong before, however...

Let's take a moment for Mona. She was the character we loved to hate. She's been there since the very beginning. We'll miss your crazy antics and fabulous outfits.

Now all I have to say is, winter premiere, come soon please.

Previously on Pretty Little Liars... No One Here Can Love or Understand Me

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

{via}

So okay. This week's PLL was a bit of a doozy. Best episode of the season? Not so sure. But there were plenty of omg-what-is-happening moments. Like... maybe even more than usual. {Spoilers ahead.}

First off, after much drawn out drama, we finally learn Melissa's secret. She saw Spencer the night Ali disappeared. She saw Bethany Young on the ground. She thought Spencer killed her. So she buried the body, but Bethany was still alive. This kind of explains Melissa's behavior over the past few years. She was hiding a huge secret, and she was only trying to protect Spencer. {Or so she says. I'm still not sure I fully trust her.}

This brings up another thought. The girls acknowledged that Alison and Bethany had to have matching yellow shirts. Why though? Was it all planned? I sill say twin theory. Also, I still don't understand this thing about Cyrus. {What kinda first name is that anyway}

Hanna is rightfully worried about Caleb, and he finally reveals that Ravenswood is what has been haunting him. I feel like that's alluding to something, but maybe it's just me.

Am I the only one who actually felt a little bad for Mona? Either she's a better actress than we thought, or she was actually being genuine with Aria. And she seems so genuinely scared of Alison.

Aaaand speaking of Alison, it seems that the girls are in agreement that Ali has at least some connection to A. Emily even called her "A" accidentally. It certainly seems possible. After all, she's been sketchy as ever since she came back and still drags the girls down with her. Who's to say this isn't some big warped thing she's got going on?

The preview for the midseason finale though. Oh. My. Gosh.

Previously on Pretty Little Liars... Scream For Me

There is so much that I want to know, but I don't know any of it, and it kills me. That may be some philosophical quote or something, but it's really just how I feel after every PLL episode. Nothing makes sense to me and I have to write it all out. If you don't want spoilers, don't read this. For real.

First things first, Ezra wasn't in this episode and I was sad. Okay, now onto the good stuff.

This season has been extra good but also extra confusing. Like the whole thing with Bethany. I don't understand what the whole dynamic was supposed to be between her and Mrs. DiLaurentis. I mean I know that's what the girls are trying to find out, but none of the clues really make sense. Part of me still thinks it's the Ali twin theory like in the books, and the other part of me insists that it's too simple of a theory to be the real thing.

Can I just say that Aria's mom has a seriously bad taste in men? First Aria's dad cheats on her, and now her new fiance is hitting on her teenage daughter's friend. Gross. Also, I usually don't get mad at Aria, but not believing Hanna when she told her about the being hit on thing was not pretty. Come on Montgomery.

Speaking of Hanna, the poor girl keeps going down this spiral and honestly I don't know what it's gonna take to get her out of it. I am so glad Caleb's back but that's not enough for her right now. Nothing seems to be enough for her right now.

Alison, what are you doing?? She actually had Noel Khan break into Hanna's house to scare her mom just to make her believe Alison's story? I don't buy it. I think there's more there, because there's always more with Ali.

I wish I could like.. tap into the writers' minds and be able to figure out every single thing going on. But then again, I've been wishing that for five seasons now.

The girls are baaack! And things are just as confusing as ever. First off, I don't know what Cece's endgame is anymore. Alison said she wasn't really redcoat, she was just a distraction. So what is Cece then? I still don't trust her.

Melissa is so eerily calm about everything. (Seriously. It weirds me out) And of course we never got to hear what she told her dad. It's something he doesn't want her mom to find out, though. For some reason I feel like it has something to do with Melissa knowing what body was actually found.

It seems as if Mona has gone off the deep end again, and this time she's bringing an army to take down Alison. She was totally acting like the mastermind of the "A" game, but I still think it's someone else. Speaking of which: SHAUNA. Obviously she was a part of the team, but I don't think she was the person. Aria seems to think that it's all over because she's dead. But it's never over.

Oh, the theories.

xoxo, Kae.

Let's talk Grammys

Monday, January 27, 2014

I'll be honest, I don't know when the last time was that I watched the Grammys all the way through.

But I did this year.

And I was not disappointed! It's always been one of my favorite award shows, simply because I love music. And, let's be real, I love to see what everyone is wearing. So first, let's talk about fashion.

Worst dressed:

Madonna. Sweetie. What are you doing??
 madonna

Pharrell Williams' hat is all kindsa crazy.

Daft Punk. Does this one even need an explanation?
Daft Punk arrive at the 56th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles

Best dressed:

Taylor Swift. I'm not being biased here. Okay, maybe I am a little. But she rocked that red carpet, and the dress is so flattering. Get it girl.
taylor

Katy Perry. Super unique and pretty.
katy

Pink. Showing us that sometimes, simple is better.
Pink

Now onto the music.

Hands down, my least favorite performance of the night was Blurred Lines. I don't know why the Recording Academy even allowed that song to be performed.

Ugh.

Runner up for my favorite performance goes to Carole King & Sara Bareilles. I've always been a Carole fan, and the duet with Sara was beautiful.

And of course, my favorite performance was Taylor.

Y'all. She took a chance. All Too Well is one of my favorite songs ever from her, or from anyone really, and she performed it and she did amazing. It was beautiful and haunting and heartbreaking. And she needs to be recognized for it.

Okay, sorry, done with the serious.

I wasn't thrilled with all of the winners, but I feel like a lot of them were deserving. Especially Lorde. The girl has already won two Grammys and she is younger than me. Way to show me up, girl! #justkidding

xoxo, Kae.

PLL recap

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

I think the word "wow" accurately describes this week's Pretty Little Liars. Well, I think it describes pretty much every episode, but this one in particular.

First off, I have to get this off my chest. I love Aria, I really do. But she is annoying me so much right now. Jake is super nice and Ezra is so sketchy (I mean he's A. Come on) and I know she doesn't know he's bad and she loves him and all that but... if only she knew. Poor Jake :(

I feel for Spencer a lot. I've always felt like out of the girls she's the one I relate to the most, so when she's sad I'm sad. I thought Emily was a little too hard on her for following her when Emily went to meet Ali. I mean yeah, Emily wanted Ali to trust her. But I still don't completely trust Ali. Also, I've been trying to figure out what exactly's up with Spencer's dad, and I don't know. But whatever it is he needs to leave.

Hanna.... oh Hanna. I wanted to hug her. Even though I wanted to yell at her for kissing Travis, I feel bad for her.

I don't know, I feel like the girls are gonna find out about Ezra soon. Or at least I hope they do, because I don't know how much longer I can stand them not knowing. Sigh.

Pretty Little Liars talk

Thursday, January 9, 2014

There is never a dull moment with PLL, and the mid-season premiere this week was no exception. It was intense. And confusing. But then again, when is it not? I didn't get to watch the premiere right away because we were on the road on our way back to Texas. But once we got to our hotel I scoured my computer until I found a link.
Yeah.
I'm in that deep.

Honestly, I was expecting more interaction with Alison this episode. I guess since she's still supposed to be hiding, talking to the girls isn't super practical. Oh well. I definitely feel like Spencer's dad is doing something sketchy. The way he was talking to Spencer & Toby and was saying he wanted to try and get Radley shut down... I don't know. I've never really had a good feeling about him.

The Hanna/Caleb scene was absolutely heartbreaking. I'm not going to lie to you, I cried. It was sad okay? I hate that they're making him leave. And Ravenswood isn't super far from Rosewood, so I don't know why they had to break up. Honestly I think it's so things can be open for him and Miranda over on Ravenswood. Which I'm not amused by.

And was it just me, or did the resemblance to Ali's and that girl Sarah's situation totally wig you out? It sounded like it was a dead end because the dates with Sarah's disappearance didn't add up, but something tells me it wasn't just a coincidence.

Ezra. Oh Ezra, how I used to love you. Now? Now I loathe you. I just hate how he's still pretending like everything's okay and that he's not a creepy stalker who likes ruining his ex girlfriend and her friend's lives. Ugh. I've never really liked Mona, but I must give her props for figuring out about Ezra. I don't know how she did it, but she did. And I love how she let him know she knew without actually telling him. So clever.
This episode was really really good and I'm excited about this half of the season!

xoxo, Kae.

Pretty Little Liars: Halloween edition.

Friday, October 25, 2013

So....................................... I forgot to mention PLL on my H54F. Oops? HOW could I forget, you ask? I have no idea. Please forgive me. At least it gives me an excuse to write an intense paragraph about it.
I didn't get to actually watch until Wednesday because for some unknown reason the cable in our apartment doesn't have abc family. I know. Such a travesty. Anyway, long story short, I saw twitter spoilers. I saw tumblr spoilers. But to me they weren't really spoilers... everyone was freaking out that Ali was alive. But I feel like people forgot about the mid-season finale... they "revealed" she was still alive then, which I called ages ago. Maybe it was intuition. So I wasn't super shocked or anything when Ali turned around and they had the "big reveal." The way they did it was cool though, because it was in the same spot from the night she disappeared.

I'm still feeling betrayed by this lil sneak. Like really?? I thought for sure Spencer was gonna be able to snatch his mask off and feel the betrayal for herself, but noope. Of course. And it seems Ezra is the one Ali is terrified of, but that just seems too obvious, right? So now I'm left wondering: Is there someone (or something) ELSE in Rosewood? Or does it all fall back on Ezra? Oh and where the heck has Alison been hiding all this time?? Sigh. I don't know how I'm going to make it three months until we find out.....

TV Talk: New Girl

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

It's May, which means the ever-dreaded season finales in TV world. New Girl is one of my shows that I adore. The finale actually aired a couple weeks ago, but I hadn't gotten around to watching it until today. I laughed my way through the episode, as usual. I was a little worried that Nick and Jess would be over before they started, but of course all was well in the end.
And how funny was my girl T. Swift as Elaine?

But seriously, overall it was a satisfying finale. But now all my shows are on hiatus. Sigh. Here's to the countdown to Pretty Little Liars! Happy TV watching.
