One question often asked is how to put expensive looking outfits together while on a less than expensive budget. As much as I would love to be able to score high end pieces at their original value & not even worry, it's just not realistic at this point in my life, & my stats show it's not for y'all either.

Before we go any further, we should just give a quick moment of silence for Brit & JT. Ah, the golden era.
Okay, so, it was the golden era in every way except the famous (or maybe infamous) denim on denim AMAs look. Complete with the cowboy hat to really set the mood, that moment was when the double denim look went DOA. For years since, it's been considered a faux pas, only whispered about in loathing.

Basics are the KEY to building a wardrobe. I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve heard this, but there are so many things that could be considered ~basics~ and it can be hard to break it down for your wardrobe needs.
So, I’ve created a FREE cheatsheet just for you, full of the essentials & basics that I believe every woman should have in her closet to build on. Print this out, hang it in your closet, whatever you need!

The first time I went to a Christian based therapist, I was freshly home on a university ~sabbatical~ trying to understand why my brain was working the way it was, (read: it wasn't) & I was willing to try anything I could get my hands on, & I'm a Christian so obviously a therapist with the same values will be of great help to me, right?
As I sat on the stuffy couch, trying to explain things as well as my jumbled mind could, I realized I was sorely mistaken.

I know we've just packed away our Christmas decorations & rang in the new year, but it's time to start thinking SPRING. Fashion is always a step ahead, no?
While I don't think your wardrobe should be strictly trend-based, I do think it's smart to have a good mix of classics & trends.
Here's just a few that we'll be seeing come S/S:

First, I should probably start out this post by saying it's #notspon (although if you're reading this, Apple...)
After many weeks of researching, I finally broke down & got an Apple Watch towards the end of the year. (I think it was November, but time has no meaning to me anymore)

When it comes to online shopping, I pretty much stick to the stores I'm comfortable with sizing wise, (mainly forever 21 & asos) but you just can't escape amazon fashion. They've been really stepping up their game, with new brands & new ways for you to try clothes.
Even though I was hesitant about it for awhile, I finally decided to see what the hype was, slowly but surely, starting out with this dress I bought for Christmas.

IT’S FRIDAY! Lots more ~helpful~ content comin at you next week but today I wanted to share a few recent Instagram snaps I’m excited about.
I’m also v excited to finally be using lightroom presets on my photos! I really wanted to take things to the next level this year & get more creative, & that starts with aesthetic.

When Emily Gilmore hopped on the Marie Kondo method, I realized maybe she was onto something. While getting rid of the dining room chairs because 'they don't bring me joy' (imagine this said in the Emily deadpan) may have been a bit extreme, Kondo's method has been gaining more & more merit over the years.

I started experimenting with hair color back in high school, although then it was just a a few highlights here & there. (& there was that one time I did a pink streak a la Aria Montgomery) Things really kicked off once I got to college (if ever a time for experimenting) when I decided to go for a dark situation.

I started bullet journaling in the middle of 2017, & I haven't gone back since. Whenever anyone asks about planner recommendations or getting organized, I immediately say the bullet journal. You can be as intricate or minimalistic as you want, & it's by far the most personalized system I've found.

Well well well, 2019 is here & our timelines are filled with goals & resolutions & plans. It really is helpful to write down things you want to change or do better, & when it comes to style having a plan of action is the way to go. If you, like me, are at the point in your life where you've pretty much settled into your own personal style, there won't be much to change, just some tweaks to what's already there.
