I recently shared one of my favorite new finds, a velvet midi dream of a skirt. Though I paired it with a simple crop top, there's an infinite number of ways to style one of these bad boys.
If there's any skirt that's a bit intimidating, it'd be the velvet. (along with its cousin, the tulle) The myth is that they're reserved for ~special occasions~, as there's not a seemingly good enough reason to break one out on a regular Tuesday. The truth is dressing one up for everyday is easier than you’d think.
In the winter weather, a solid crop (but not so cropped there’s actually skin exposed to be frozen) sweater works wonders. It adds dimension and length, as does a solid (black is my pick, but any color is a good color) turtleneck.
& then there’s the never-failing denim top, that when tied at the waist gives Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money.
